major US and Canadian cities or you may choose a region, travel,
sports, bloopers or breaking weather videos.
They say "Free
Signup", but you really don't have to sign up, you just
choose the location you want and and agree to the terms of

different sizes and shapes. Choose from oil or metal prices,
grain futures, loan and bond interest rates and more.
You could actually build a
whole website with all the free content. They also offer
co-branded and private label accounts at a cost.
You have to provide an
email and they will instantly send you the code for the chosen

Wordle
You have seen these. You can take a list
of words and create a work of art. Fully customizable then you
get a script to display a thumbnail on your site. The thumbnail
is clickable to view the large version. If you want to put a
larger wordle on your page, you have to use a screen capture
tool. Here

One of the coolest free widgets to come
out in a while is the customizable jukebox from Jango.com.
You do have to register with a valid email, and once registered,
click on "My Home", then in the right column near the
bottom, click "Get Your Jango Jukebox".
To set up your jukebox, you have to choose
at least 15 artists and you can embed the code almost anywhere
(especially MySpace). You may choose to have the free jukebox
"autoplay" on page load or have your visitors choose
to play music by hovering over then clicking an artist.

This is one of the coolest
weather widgets I have seen. It shows current conditions,
humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and temperature all in
a nice display.

This is a simple way to get
your visitors to add your site, blog (or page) to their
favorites or social networking site. No need to alter the code,
it promotes the page it is placed on so you can put it on any
and all pages. I have included 2 styles as one style offers a
drop-down box. They also offer a free rss feed button.

Oodle
Widget
This widget could help you sell
something as you can post a free ad on oodle, then make a
widget. First go to oodle.com/cities
and find your city. Select an item in the left column. Scroll
all the way down and click the "Add these listings to your
website" link. Choose the size, title and color. Scroll
down and copy the code. It Automatically updates.
